Natural Disaster's Hidden Costs
May 9, 2011
When Tornados,
Floods or Hurricanes occur; pets, horses and other animals can be separated from
their owners and families by miles and for extended
periods of time. Pets can be adopted out during the separation in an attempt to
help the wondering animal. So when the original owner tries to reclaim their
family member – ownership may have to be proven on the spot
to
get your family member back. Same thing may occur for horses and other animals.
For these reasons, MobiPetTags has announced an additional “Pet
ID Photo” option for MobiPetTags customers, where they can keep up to 10
photos of personal pet photos specifically taken for identification purposes.
All of the photos are available in seconds from our customer’s "Pet
Information Page”. Thus if you are ever separated from your companion by
events beyond your control you will always have at your finger tips the proof
you will need to get your companion back with your family.

War Dogs American Heroes Abandon Again?
As
a Vietnam veteran I saw the government I fought for four years discard combat
patriots as if they were used cars with no value, with no thought to the
protection and dedication they provided throughout the war. Now they are going
to do it again and we cannot stand by and let them get away with it.
In his February 2008
FROGDOGZ about the Federal Law Bill Clinton signed to “protect and
safeguard the well being of military service dogs” and how it is not
mandatory but optional and how the end results are dogs that are thought of
as vermin by Iraqis which equals Dead Dogs – if they are lucky.
During the Vietnam War the Viet Cong placed bounties on both, the American
handlers and their war dogs! Between 1960-'75, about 4,000 American war dogs
were employed in various capacities, of these a few died early on in the war
from food contamination; the Vietnam sub tropical climate killed several
hundred more...according to the Army Veterinary Corps, 109 war dogs died
from heatstroke in 1969 alone; and from June 1970 thru to December 1972, 371
dogs were euthanized as being non effective in combat, and a other 148 died
from various causes; during the entire war 281 were officially listed as
killed in action that leaves over 3,000 dogs unaccounted for!!!
For whatever the reasons were, the military decided, that the dogs who served in Vietnam we’re not be repatriated. The military decided that it was impractical to repatriate the animals and that turning them over to ARVN was cost effective and solved what could have been a huge logistical problem for the US military, who was now preparing to downsize to a peace time army. Then when in 1975 the U.S. abandon Vietnam the ARVN was running for their lives and the dogs were lost forever.
Now, today (10/21/2011) President Obama announced that the United States
will be completely out of Iraq by December of this year. The logistical
challenges facing the military to just get the soldiers out by the deadline
are massive little alone the equipment – which will be left behind – what
does that mean for the dogs that fearlessly work for us?
It is now time to start the fight for ensuring that our best friends are not
forgotten again by a hapless and ungrateful government. Call your
Representative today!![]()
